When I was younger, one of my favorite things to do was play “spy.” I would convince my siblings, friends, neighbors, and anyone I could find to pretend to be a secret agent. We would go around spying on people and trying to find information to report to one another, or create secret codes and send messages back and forth on paper airplanes. I spend many hours of my childhood pretending to be a secret agent.
I think that the secret agent theme for our class has a lot of potential. To be honest, when I first saw that there was a theme I was a little skeptical. I’ve never had a themed class like this before. However, I think the theme works very well with Digital Storytelling, which allows us to create our own unique identities on the internet, just like undercover secret agents. Together, we can explore the different identities that we project on the web and learn how to forge roles and make art with the many resources that we have.
